Ondo partners Portland Paints on infrastructure development, Tuesday, 17 Apr 2012

(The Guardian) In its bid to add aesthetics to its current efforts at infrastructure developments, the Ondo State government has entered into a partnership with Portland Paints and Products Nigeria Plc, a leading paints manufacturer, agents of the two parties disclosed at the weekend. The partnership, which is said to be mutually beneficial to the two bodies, according to the duo of the State Commissioner for Urban and Physical Planning, Igbekele Dawodu and the Managing Director of the company, Bayo Osibo, is centred on procurement and supply of paints and other products. And to concretise the partnership and expand its retail business in the state, the company has commissioned an office in Akure, the state capital with special features to handle its various products for increased patronage.   Speaking at the opening ceremony of the office, Osibo said the company decided to go into partnership with the state government because, according to him, the current administration in the state was unique in terms of developmental projects it had been carrying out.

He pointed out that the company was known for producing quality products and services with warranty of at least five years which make it one of the most customer-friendly among the big players in the paint industry. While disclosing that the new office has three units: the Sandtex paints, Portland Bathrooms and Color Boutique units, Osibo said the company is a sole agent of the world renowned brands of sanitary ware, Amitage Shanks and Ideal Standard and has been supplying quality products. According to him, "we are the major suppliers of quality bathroom products to home, hotels, schools, hospitals and factories and the products have been tried and tested by our numerous clients nationwide. "People of Ondo State can now create colours that truly reflect their personalities. They just visit Sandtex Paints Color Boutique where they can easily choose and mix color for their buildings from our exotic menu of over 15,000 colours . Our hi-tech paint dispenser can do it in just two minutes." In his contribution at the event, Dawodu, who pledged to facilitate the use of Portland paints on all constructions taking place in the state, said "as an architect, I have tested and demonstrated Sandtex products in hospitals, private and commercial buildings and so on, it stands out as number one paint in Nigeria."
