Francis Chukwuemeka Ezeonu

Chukwuemeka Ezeonu holds dual Professorial appointments in the Dept. of Applied Biochemistry and Dept. of Drugs and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Nnamdi Azikiwe University. He is active in teaching and research and is well published. One of his studies, “Seasonal profile of nitrate and nitrite in potable water sources in Onitsha”, published in Environmental Toxicology and Water Quality (Canada) in 1996 is cited as one of the Scientific Supporting Documents adopted for Nitrate Quality Guidelines in Canada. In 2010 he was appointed as the only African scientist in a 31-member Joint FAO/WHO Independent International Expert Committee Bisphenol A.
He was the founding Vice-Chancellor of Hezekiah University, Umudi (2015 - 2016). Between 2017 and 2022 he served as Resident Electoral Commissioner at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Imo State. In 2023, he was appointed member of the National Bioethics Committee. He is recognized for leadership, governance, policy advisory and academic excellence.
